Anche se discontinuo e a tratti non troppo ispirato, il film possiede una disillusione di fondo che lo rende un prodotto difficile da maneggiare. Non sarà del tutto riuscito, ma certamente non può essere semplicisticamente bollato come superficiale intrattenimento, così come i due lungometraggi suoi predecessori. Phillips, nel portare avanti la sua idea di "commedia degli orrori" sull'uomo moderno, ha realizzato opere che sono state sottovalutate nella loro portata simbolica, e questo terzo episodio non lo smentisce. Solita ultima annotazione sugli attori: com'era successo nel secondo The Hangover il più convincente è Ed Helms, il vero "uomo comune" del Wolfpack, quello senza alcuna qualità se non quel minimo di buon senso che alla fine lo porta a scegliere la strada giusta dopo il caos che ha più o meno consciamente abbracciato. Il personaggio di Stu è quello meglio delineato rispetto agli altri, ed è un bel vantaggio. Però Helms è davvero bravo a riempirlo di umanità.
